STATE SMALL BUSINESS GRANTS

Maui Federal Disaster Loans-Applicants may also call SBA’s Customer Service Center at (800) 659-2955 or e-mail disastercustomerservice@sba.gov for more information on SBA disaster assistance. San Marcos Minority Small Business Grants (applications are ongoing as long as funds are available)

Founders First CDC, a national non-profit launched Job Creators Quest Grant Program to support BIPOC business owners throughout Texas. The grant award fund is $100,000. Multiple rounds. (reopens August 2024), Grant recipients will also receive a full scholarship to one of  Founders First’s accelerator programs. Accelerator programs are also available for a chance to win cash grants.

100+ Accelerator – The 100+ Accelerator delivers 6 months of remote programming and training to accelerate the collaboration and growth of cohort companies in addition to a pilot/alliance with their partner companies. You will receive support from a global team champion, access to mentor networks, and up to $100K toward pilot execution.  May reopen in 2024.

The AAUW (American Association of University Women) Community Action Grant is providing funding to individuals as well as community-based nonprofits for innovative programs that promote education and equity for women and girls. Grants for up to $10,000. Apply between August 1st to December 31st every year.

American Association of University Women Career Development Grants – The American Association of University Women is seeking applications for Career Development Grants to provide funding to women who hold a bachelor’s degree and are preparing to advance or change careers or re-enter the workforce in education; health and medical sciences; science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM); or social sciences. Funds are available for tuition, fees, books, supplies, local transportation and dependent care. Funding up to $20,000. Opens August 1st every year and closes on November 15 every year. 

American Express, a credit card company in partnership with “Coalition to Back Black Businesses” Grant Program with a $10 Million Commitment. Annual grants are awarded in the fall each year. Multiple rounds. Currently closed but should open later in 2024.

AnitaB.org PitchHER competition – The annual AnitaB.org PitcHER contest is a pitch competition bringing leading women and non-binary entrepreneurs to Grace Hopper Celebration – the world’s largest gathering of women and non-binary technologists – with the goal of supporting, encouraging, and providing new funding opportunities to these entrepreneurs. Will award a total of $100,000 to winners. May reopen for 2024. 

Aurora Tech Award is an annual prize for women founders of IT startups whose projects have had the most profound impact on world development. Its goal is to support women in the field of advanced technologies, especially women entrepreneurs. Any woman founder or co-founder of a company that was created within the last five years can be nominated for the award. The key product of the nominee’s company must be based on information technologies. The nominee must hold a C-level position in the company at the time the application is submitted. Grants up to $30,000. Open for 2023 and closes December 1, 2023.  

Barclays “Small Business, Big Wins”. To support small businesses, Barclays is revitalizing its “Small Businesses, Big Wins” promotion. Applicants must submit “compelling stories of resilience” during the COVID-19 pandemic in order to enter. The grand prize is $60,000, and there are a number of smaller cash prizes available as well. May reopen in 2024.

BeChangeMaker 2024 – Are you 18 to 35 years old and have a business idea with the potential to bring positive impact and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals? BeChangeMaker is a series of skill training projects made available yearly to 30 teams of skilled and talented young people, to help you explore your career potential as social entrepreneur. Reopens 2024. 

Black Ambition Prize – Teams applying for the Black Ambition Prize must have at least one founder or co-founder that identifies as Black/African/African American and/or Hispanic/Latino/a/. Eligible ventures must have raised no more than $1M in dilutive funding to date. Funding up to $1,000,000. May reopen 2024. Subscribe to their newsletter for more funding opportunities. 

Brookfield Properties has the Partner To Empower Program and is investing $25 Million to help minority businesses open brick-and-mortar stores. The program has multiple rounds through 2025 to help Black and minority business owners open brick-and-mortar stores in our malls by providing:

  • One-on-one business planning and guidance
  • Networking opportunities and resources
  • Funding dedicated to store construction expenses
  • A tailored, four-week Retail Workshop led by industry experts

Brookfield Properties’ program opens in January 2024.

Caress has announced a $1,000,000 investment over the next 2 years to support women of color entrepreneurs through a founding partnership with IFundWomen of Color. IFundWomen of Color (IFWOC), is the leading platform for diverse entrepreneurs to raise capital through crowdfunding, grants, and coaching. Through this partnership these entrepreneurs will receive the support needed to stay open, re-open, and ensure their long-term success. Beginning with a $500,000 immediate relief donation to support 200 women of color entrepreneurs, already in the IFWOC community, with funding and IFWOC group coaching, mentorship, and connections needed to sustain their businesses. Opens in 2024.

Cartier Women’s Initiative awards 21 women entrepreneurs a regional grant (based on their location in the world) of up to $100,000. Businesses must be issue-driven, with a focus on economic, environmental, or other areas of sustainability. Additionally, a fellowship program offers opportunities like mentorship, financial consulting, and high-stakes speaking opportunities. Annual competition. Will reopen 2024.

Citi Trends is celebrating Black History Month by providing $5,000 grants to black entrepreneurs. Only applicants in the following product categories will be considered: Apparel, Beauty, Skin Care, Hair Care, Footwear, Home Décor, Bedding, Bath, Technology, or Accessories. Annual program. Closed for 2023. 

Cleantech Open – Do you have an idea that has the potential to solve an environmental or energy challenge? Apply to the accelerator to gain access to a full business development program, that includes expert mentors, investor introductions, industry connections, and a chance to compete regionally and nationally for cash prizes and in-kind services to launch your venture.  $50,000+ in funding.  Annual program. May reopen 2024.

The Coalition to Back Black Businesses- Apply for $5000 grants, mentorship, and online resources. Join the waitlist to find out when the grant will officially open by going on their website. 

Community Food Systems Fellowship– This fellowship provides the opportunity to contribute to developing a roadmap for community-powered food systems and to learn how to better capture impact. Grants for $2,000. May reopen Fall 2024.

Creative Writing Fellowship-The National Endowment for the Arts Literature Fellowships program offers $25,000 grants in prose (fiction and creative nonfiction) and poetry to published creative writers that enable the recipients to set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement. Annual program. 

Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network Grant – The Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) connects female entrepreneurs around the globe with networks, knowledge and insight that gives them power to do more. Through DWEN, Dell Technologies empowers female founders and aspiring entrepreneurs to grow their businesses and their vision through the power of technology, expansion of their personal networks and access to capital. Funding up to $40,000 in Dell technology. Annual program. You have to register as a member to be eligible to enter. 

D-Prize Grants for ventures for poverty interventions. Awards of $20,000. Annual program. Opens April 2024. 

DoorDash Restaurant Disaster Relief Fund will provide $10,000 relief grants to local restaurants across the United States affected by state- or federally-declared natural disasters. Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the declared disaster. Applications close March 29, 2024 at 5:00pm EST.

Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund – The Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund is a small grant program that provides direct assistance to veterans who are in their beginning years of farming or ranching. The Fellowship Fund does not give money directly to the veteran, but rather to third-party vendors for items the veteran has identified will make a crucial difference in the launch of their farm business. Awards range from $1,000 to $5,000. 2024 Application Will Open: Jan 3 – Feb 14.

Fast Break for Small Business gives back with $6 million in grants and services. LegalZoom, the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League have teamed up to help small business owners. Applications for the $10,000 grants and up to $500 in LegalZoom services are open twice a year.  Currently closed. 

Fast Pitch Grant – Women Founders Network – Founder/Co-Founder/CEO must be a woman or business must be majority-owned by a woman. Applications from Life Sciences, nonprofit, or cannabis/CBD companies will not be accepted. Funding up to $55,000. Annual. 2024 Application Period: April 1 – May 31, 2024

Fearless Fund Pitch Competition for Women of Color Led / Women of Color – Co-founded companies to receive $50,000. HBCU scholarships and other grants are available. Annual program. May reopen 2024. 

FedEx Learning Lab Program w/$2,000 grant for minority & women entrepreneurs who sell online. Annual program. May reopen 2024.

FedEx has an annual small business grant contest for up to $50,000 to power small business growth. May reopen 2024. 

FemTech Accelerator – Tech4Eva – A Femtech community and a 9-month equity-free Femtech start-up acceleration program for companies developing innovative solutions to improve technologies relating to women’s health.  Annual program. Reopens April 2024. 

Fruit Guys Community Fund Grant – The applicant farm must be an established working farm with at least 1 year of experience that is looking to improve operations. Projects should help small farms and orchards operate more environmentally and economically, as well as strengthen community outreach. Funding up to $5000. Applications open in January 2024. 

Gender Equity In Stem Incubator – Incubator is seeking submissions from individuals, new teams, or established organizations. Solutions can be for-profit, nonprofit, or hybrid models and must be at least at the prototype stage. Solution teams must be US-based to be eligible for the Challenge. Pool of $1MM for 8 finalists. May reopen 2024. 

Global Citizen Collective Entrepreneur Grant – Designed for current business owners who have been in operation for 2 years or less. In keeping with the spirit of global citizenship each recipient’s business must be a source of enrichment and support for their community. Grant for $1,000. May 1 – May 31 every year. 

Halstead Grant (jewelry) – Halstead Grant is an annual award for emerging silver jewelry artists. Applicants submit answers to 15 business questions in addition to their design portfolios. The experience is designed to help jewelry entrepreneurs create a strategy to kick-start their careers. Grant for $7,500. Deadline: May 1, 2024.

iF Social Impact Prize supports projects that contribute to improving our society. If you work towards achieving one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, your project is eligible. Funding of 100,000 Euros. Opens 2024. 

Jobber Grants For Home Service Businesses – Any home service business owner or aspiring business owner 18 years old or older, residing in the U.S. and Canada, excluding Québec is eligible to apply. Grants for $2500-$15,000. Annual grant, may reopen 2024.

Founder’s First is back with The Kitty Fund, investing $1,000 in 25 mother-led small businesses with two or more employees. Grant money can be used however recipients see fit. Opens March 2024. 

Live Your Dreams Education & Training Awards for women up to $10,000 in cash grants. The award provides monetary assistance to women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families. International program. Check participating countries. Annual program. Applications are open from August 1 to November 15 every year.

McBride Sisters SHE CAN Fund– The SHE CAN Fund provides grants and scholarships to women in the wine & spirits industry, including Black women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. May reopen 2024.

Mielle Organics is providing grants of $10,000 for black-owned businesses. Requires submission of a 30-second video. Annual. 

National Black Business Pitch – The National Black Business Pitch (NBBP) is a competition designed to connect Black-owned businesses to corporations who seek to expand and diversify their supply chain with new products and services. Prize of $10,000. Closed, reopens 2024.

National Black MBA Association has an annual Scale-up Pitch Challenge Competition with grant awards of up to $50,000. Closed for 2023.

Northwestern Mutual Black Founder Accelerator – Invests in up to ten high-growth startups per year (two cohorts of five) founded by Black entrepreneurs. Companies with founders or at least 20% ownership who identify as Black/AA can apply. The company must be in the following industries: Fintech, Insurtech, Digital Health, and Data Analytics. The accelerator will award a $100,000 investment or convertible note. Program opens March 27th, 2024, apply now. 

Outpost Residency – Outpost is a residency for creative writers of color from the United States and Latin America. Each September, two writers are awarded a $2,000 stipend as well as complimentary travel, lodging, and meals to spend a month cultivating a generative writing community in the mountains of Southern Vermont. May reopen 2024. 

Progressive® Driving Small Business Forward Fund– Funded by Progressive®, the Driving Small Business Forward Fund provides $25,000 grants to help Black entrepreneurs purchase a commercial vehicle used to accelerate their business. May reopen in 2024.  

SBA Thrive Emerging Leaders Training program is for business owners that have annual revenues of at least $250,000 and have been in business at least 3 years and have at least one employee. Will reopen in 2024.  

She Boss Talk hosts its I Am Black Business Pitch Competition. Enter to win up to $1,000. Entry period Feb 14 – Feb 28. Annual program.

She Boss Talk, a media marketing company has launched the She Boss Up Fund to provide grants to women business owners in the United States financially impacted by COVID-19. To learn more about the fund, to apply, donate, partner, or nominate a deserving woman, click here. Awards up to $5,000. Annual program. Applications open in winter.

Siete Juntos Fund- Siete Foods is looking to uplift majority Latina-owned food trucks, bakeries, and eateries across the nation with a total of $200,000 in awards (grants range from $10,000 to $50,000). Will reopen in 2024. 

The Startup Collective by Aveeno empowers Black female-identifying entrepreneurs with a product, brand, or technology that meets the skin or hair care needs of Black consumers through a $100,000 grant. May reopen 2024.

TL Effect Mentorship Program – The TL Effect is an in-house mentorship program geared towards women-of-color entrepreneurs looking to take their consumer-focused early-stage start-up to the next level. One recipient will receive a $20,000 grant. Fill out interest form to find out when they reopen. Opens 2024. 

Tony Elumelu Foundation – To apply, you only need to be a permanent resident of any of Africa’s 54 countries. Your startup must be at an ideation stage or not a business older than 5 years. Funding of $5,000. The application phase takes place from January 1 to March 31 each year. 

Tory Burch Fellows Program w/ $5,000 educational grant for women entrepreneurs. One-year Fellowship with the Tory Burch Foundation that includes a $5,000 educational grant, virtual education programming, workshops, and business guidance. Annual program. Currently closed. 

Transform Business Grant-The TRANSFORM Business Grant is designed to support individuals in systemically oppressed groups who demonstrate financial need. This includes but is not limited to, BIPOC individuals, individuals who have a disability, formerly incarcerated individuals, and queer, trans, and nonbinary folks. Grants for $1,000. Will reopen 2024. 

U.S. Chamber of Commerce opened its Dream Big Awards. The annual Dream Big Awards offers up to $25,000 in cash prizes to the Small Business of the Year winner. Annual program. Will reopen 2024. 

Visa Everywhere Initiative is an annual global competition for startups. There are multiple competitions, over $500k in total prizes, and the chance to compete in the global finals in Qatar in November. Check applications for deadlines per category and region. May reopen 2024. 

Watson Institute Venture Accelerator – The Watson Institute is launching a fully-funded Venture Accelerator program for next-generation entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and experience to scale the impactful ventures they are building. This program is offered with virtual and in-person components that allows fellows to take advantage of the global cohort while also focusing on creating local impact within their communities. Applicants can be from any geographical location with a preference to applicants from the USA, Brazil, China, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania. Funding of $6,000. Opens Spring 2024. 

500 Global Flagship Accelerator Program for startups – $150,000 equity investment opportunity. Rolling Applications. 

Founders Factory Africa Gen F Incubator- Gen F is for exceptional founders/aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build out and test their ideas, achieve commercial success, and create outsized, systemic impact and founders looking to build tech solutions that solve Africa’s largest problems and catalyze change. Funding up to $250,000.

Amazon opens its Accelerator & Grant Program. Applications are open for black-owned business sellers on their platform. Awards up to $10K. Annual program.  Rolling applications.

Amber Grants- Each month, one small business owned by a woman wins a $10,000 Amber Grant. You will need to get votes to win, so it helps to have a strong social network. At the end of the year, the 12 recipients have a chance to win the annual $25,000.

America’s Seed Fund- America’s Seed Fund, sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF), offers up to $2 million for U.S.-based startups and small businesses that are developing innovative technology.

Awesome Foundation – The Foundation distributes $1,000 grants, no strings attached, to projects and their creators. At each fully autonomous chapter, the money is pooled together from the coffers of ten or so self-organizing “micro-trustees”. Awarded monthly.

Barstool Fund provides grants to small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Applications are on a rolling basis. 

BIPOC Small Business Grants program offers micro-grants each month to a minority business. 

Bob Woodruff Foundation Grant for Veterans -Must be nonprofit that services veteran community and must have at least 2 consecutive years of $50,000 in gross receipts. Applications are accepted all year round. 

CCCWC Women of Color Entrepreneur Grant for $5,000. The CCWC review committee will review submissions on a rolling basis. 

Emergent Ventures Grant/Fellowship Application (through Mercatus Center at George Mason University – Emergent Ventures, a fellowship and grant program from the Mercatus Center, seeks to support entrepreneurs with highly scalable, “zero to one” ideas for meaningfully improving society. Projects will either be fellowships or grants: fellowships involve time in residence at the Mercatus Center in Northern Virginia; grants are one-time or slightly staggered payments to support a project. No deadline.

Facebook has an annual We the Culture Black Creators Accelerator & Grant Program. Applications are year-round.

Fearless Strivers – Open to black women who are legal U.S. residents (including DC), 18+, and the principal owner of a U.S.-based small business. Applications are reviewed monthly. 

Freed Fellowship- Every month, one $500 grant is awarded to an underrepresented founder in the US to invest in their existing business. No strings attached. No equity is required. Grant recipients are also eligible to receive an additional end-of-year grant of $2,500.

Grindstone incubator – Must be based in South Africa – incubator will include training, corporate advisory, coaching, mentorship, and funding. Specific interventions for each company include a structured gap analysis, understanding of the company value system, building a digital go-to-market strategy, financial modeling, intellectual property assessment, strategic and financial valuation as well as populating a data room.

HerRise Micro-Grant is a monthly $500 micro-grant that will be awarded to a for-profit small business owned by women of color. Past recipients used their growth grants for computers, equipment, marketing materials, software purchases, website creation and more.

Military Entrepreneur Challenge- The Military Entrepreneur Challenge is a nationwide grant program that gives veteran, military spouse, and Gold Star Family entrepreneurs the opportunity to network, learn, and compete for capital to grow their small businesses.

NASE Growth Grant Programs-If you are self-employed, you may be eligible for the $4,000 grant that NASE awards monthly. There are not too many requirements to meet other than being a NASE member. Grant applications are reviewed quarterly.

Pepsico Foundation in partnership with the Urban League launches Black Restaurant Accelerator Program. The Program will comprise direct grant assistance grants to 500 businesses and technical assistance, including entrepreneurial coaching and training on various topics, including back office and accounting systems and support, inventory management, operational efficiency, marketing for growth and ROI, and staff development. This is a five-year program. Applications are currently open; apply in person at a qualifying local business center.

Pollination Project funds individuals, informally organized groups and organizations, and formally registered or incorporated not-for-profit organizations based anywhere in the world. Awards are up to $40,000. Rolling applications.

Savvy Fellowship -Savvy is a 12-week virtual Fellowship program for young professionals seeking to be part of the new generation of impact entrepreneurs. Applicants should be 40 or younger.

SoGal Foundation has teamed up with Winky Lux, Bluemercury, twelve NYC, and Lively to make a small step towards progress by providing a $10K and $5K cash grants to Black women or nonbinary entrepreneurs. Applications are rolling.

Warrior Rising Grant – Warrior Rising strives to accept and assist veterans at any point in the process of starting their own business, whether it is only a concept or if they have actual operations. Funding of $20,000.

Wealthy Single Moms are giving Single Mom Stimulus Grants of $500 monthly. Rolling applications.

What’s The Big Idea Grant- The What’s The Big Idea Grant helps women small business owners, entrepreneurs, and creatives who want to make an impact on the world with their passion. Every month, they give one $ 1,000 grant to a woman, age 18 or over, in the US to invest in their Business or Idea. It can be used as a start-up grant, marketing grant, operational grant, or whatever you need to help you to the next level with your idea or business. ALL applicants will receive a one-month free membership in their woman entrepreneur mindset coaching group, with world-class mindset mentoring to help you manifest your dream 10X faster.

Wish Local Empowerment Program – You must be a Black-owned business with a brick-and-mortar shop within the United States and less than 20 employees. If selected for the program, you must join Wish Local (which is free). Grants for up to $2000.

Women’s Net, a network for women has a rolling monthly Amber grant contest that awards $10,000 to a deserving woman entrepreneur with eligibility to win the annual $25,000 grant. Rolling applications, $15 application fee.

YippityDoo Big Idea Grant- Each month, one $1000 grant is awarded to a woman, age 18 or over, in the US to invest in their Business or Idea. It can be used as a start up grant, marketing grant, operational grant or whatever you need to help you to the next level with your idea or business. $1,000 each month. $15 application fee.

 

 

48 in 48 – Website Build Event – 48in48 provides free websites to empower nonprofits. They recruit teams of talented designers, developers, project managers and content writers come together and create amazing websites over just one weekend. Non-profits with less than $3MM in revenue are welcome to apply. Their next event focuses on women-led nonprofits. The build event will be in early April, and the application deadline is March 18, 2024. 

American Dream Awards- The American Dream Awards spotlight small businesses that epitomize the modern American Dream through their innovative solutions, outstanding community contributions, and commitment to sustainable business practices. These prestigious awards are available to all for-profit businesses operating in the United States. If you become a recipient, you’ll receive a package that comprises $1,000 in funding, access to a small business accelerator, media coverage, and various other perks. Apply by Apr 30, 2024, at 5:00 pm EST

The BGV | TikTok Innovate Together Grant Program- The program will provide financial support, up to $50,000 enabling businesses to work with creators who possess the prowess to craft captivating content resonating with target audiences. Deadline: March 29, 2024. 

Black Pitch Contest Canada – The Black Pitch Contest is a program operated by the Black Entrepreneurs and Businesses of Canada Society, a non-profit organization aiming to support Canadian Black businesses. The contest offers participants the opportunity to win up to $25,000, learn from mentors, and connect with experts to help transform their businesses. It is designed to help Black entrepreneurs who have been excluded from traditional investment avenues. Top prize of $25,000. Apply by February 16, 2024.

Boost Your Business Technology – Grant for up to $15,000 offers support to Canadian-owned small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) who want to adopt new digital technologies.

BOSS Impact Fund Invest in Progress Grant – Less than 1% of minority founders get investment funding for the start of their small business. The BOSS Network aims to tackle the issue by providing grants for Black women entrepreneurs and access to a 1-year mentorship program, to assist in their business growth. Funding of $10,000. Deadline: February 23, 2024, 5 p.m. ET.

Cadence Cash Equal Access Fund-This is a a quarterly program aimed at supporting small businesses that contribute positively to their communities. The grant amount is $5000. The deadlines for 2024 are:

Circular Food Innovators Fund – The Circular Food Innovators Fund supports local small businesses (both for-profit and not-for-profit) to implement reuse systems that replace single-use and takeaway items with reusable foodservice ware that is collected and redistributed for further use. Applicant must be a small business (i.e., less than 99 employees) (excluding academic institutions) and must be located within the boundaries of Toronto. Funding up to $35,000. Commercial Space Rehabilitation Grant Program– Toronto – The Commercial Space Rehabilitation Grant Program is available to owners and tenants of vacant properties or the risk of being vacant properties at street level, or properties at risk of becoming vacant (that have received funding from the Canada Emergency Rent Subsidy program) within the city of Toronto, that are used for commercial purposes at street level, and that are locally owned and operated. A minimum of three eligible improvements must be made. Funding up to $24,000. Deadline: March 7, 2024, or until all available funds are depleted.

Google for Startups AI First – A 10-week accelerator program for high potential AI-First technology startups based in the U.S. and Canada. The accelerator runs for a period of 10-weeks with a mix of remote and in-person, 1-to-1, group learning sessions, sprint projects and mentorship. As part of the Google for Startups Accelerator, selected founders outline the top technical and business challenges facing their startup, and are then paired with relevant experts from Google to help solve those challenges. National Geographic Society Grants: Apply for a grant of up to $100K from the National Geographic Society to work on bold, innovative, and transformative projects in science, conservation, storytelling, education, and technology. Northwestern Mutual Black Founder AcceleratorInvests in up to ten high-growth startups per year (two cohorts of five) founded by Black entrepreneurs. Prince Edward Island Small Business Grant – The Small Business Investment Grant helps Prince Edward Island’s small businesses improve efficiency and innovation by way of a non-repayable financial contribution toward the purchase of eligible capital asset costs. Rev’s Prototyping Hardware Accelerator – Over 10 weeks, Rev’s Prototyping Hardware Accelerator offers four tracks – Classic, AgTech, ClimateTech, and MedTech – to guide product teams to determine if their ideas are commercially desirable, technologically feasible, and economically viable. Upon program completion, participants can recruit team members, bring on partners, initiate work with contract manufacturers, and pitch to investors. Aurora Tech Award is an annual prize for women founders of IT startups whose projects have had the most profound impact on world development. Its goal is to support women in the field of advanced technologies, especially women entrepreneurs. Any woman founder or co-founder of a company that was created within the last five years can be nominated for the award. The key product of the nominee’s company must be based on information technologies. The nominee must hold a C-level position in the company at the time the application is submitted. Barclays “Small Business, Big Wins”. To support small businesses, Barclays is revitalizing its “Small Businesses, Big Wins” promotion. Barstool Fund provides grants to small businesses impacted by COVID-19. Applications are on a rolling basis.

Caress has announced a $1,000,000 investment over the next 2 years to support women of color entrepreneurs through a founding partnership with IFundWomen of Color. IFundWomen of Color (IFWOC), is the leading platform for diverse entrepreneurs to raise capital through crowdfunding, grants, and coaching. Through this partnership these entrepreneurs will receive the support needed to stay open, re-open, and ensure their long-term success. Beginning with a $500,000 immediate relief donation to support 200 women of color entrepreneurs, already in the IFWOC community, with funding and IFWOC group coaching, mentorship, and connections needed to sustain their businesses. Opens in summer 2023.

Cartier Women’s Initiative awards 21 women entrepreneurs a regional grant (based on their location in the world) of up to $100,000. Businesses must be issue-driven, with a focus on economic, environmental, or other areas of sustainability. Additionally, a fellowship program offers opportunities like mentorship, financial consulting, and high-stakes speaking opportunities. Annual competition. Comcast, a technology company has launched the Comcast Rise Grant program for small businesses. Fast Break for Small Business gives back with$6 million in grants and services. LegalZoom, the NBA, WNBA, and NBA G League have teamed up to help small business owners. Freed Fellowship – Every month, one $500 grant is awarded to an underrepresented founder in the US to invest in their existing business. No strings attached. No equity required. Grant recipients are also eligible to receive an additional end-of-year grant of $2,500.

Fruit Guys Community Fund Grant – The applicant farm must be an established working farm with at least 1 year of experience that is looking to improve operations. Gender Equity In Stem Incubator – Incubator is seeking submissions from individuals, new teams, or established organizations. Giving Joy Micro grants available to women 18 and older.  – You can use the grant to start a new business or expand your existing business. You can also use the grant to start or expand a nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO), or charity, or propose a specific activity or project you would like to implement. Grant for $500. The current application period is June 1, 2023-September 30, 2023. 

Global Citizen Collective Entrepreneur Grant – Designed for current business owners who have been in operation for 2 years or less. In keeping with the spirit of global citizenship each recipient’s business must be a source of enrichment and support for their community. Grant for $1,000. May reopen 2024.

GoFundMe has partnered with Yelp to allow independent businesses to start fundraisers and accept donations through Yelp’s pages. The Yelp Foundation and GoFundMe also both pledged to donate up to $1 million to the GoFundMe.org Small Business Relief Fund.

Goldman Sachs announced a slew of initiatives to support small businesses impacted by COVID-19, including a Small Business Stimulus Package allocating $250 million in emergency loans and $25 million in grants. The company has committed a total of $300 million.

Google Accelerator: Circular Economy – (North America and Asia-Pacific) is a 10-week virtual program for Seed to Series A technology startups and non-profit organizations based in North America and Asia-Pacific. It’s designed to bring the best of Google’s programs, products, people, network, and technology to the most innovative and impactful innovators working to realize a future without waste. Google Postcast Creator Program Accelerator provides training that advances the business and creative strategies of independent podcast creators worldwide. Grant awards of $15,000. Annual program. 

Google for Startups Black Founders Fund – The Google for Startups Black Founders Fund provides non-dilutive cash awards to Black led startups that have participated in our programs or have been nominated by our partner community or a previous recipient. Google.org Impact Challenge for Women and Girls commits $25 million to fund organizations creating pathways to prosperity for women and girls. This is an open call for applications, and selected charitable initiatives will receive up to $2 million, as well as opportunities for mentorship and additional support from Google. Juntos Crecemos Hispanic Digital & Delivery Program from PepsiCo is inviting Latina entrepreneurs who work in food service to apply for eight weeks of personalized expert consultation, including best practices across operations, technology, marketing and digital presence.

Mastercard launches a new Start Path program dedicated to supporting traditionally underrepresented fintech founders to ensure minority-led startups have access to funding necessary to scale. U.S. Chamber of Commerce opened its Dream Big Awards. The annual Dream Big Awards offers up to $25,000 in cash prizes to the Small Business of the Year winner. Annual program. 

Verizon Small Business Digital Ready program provides free training for small businesses. Registered users are now eligible to apply for a $10,000 grant. Violife launched Plant Grants a new multi-year grants program that promotes plant-based eating by providing charitable funding, education, and mentorship to grantees to make plant-based foods more accessible, affordable, and available in local communities. Veterans Business Outreach Center – The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) program offers resources to veterans who are interested in starting or growing a small business. Gender Equity In Stem Incubator – Incubator is seeking submissions from individuals, new teams, or established organizations. Solutions can be for-profit, nonprofit, or hybrid models and must be at least at the prototype stage. Solution teams must be US-based to be eligible for the Challenge. Pool of $1MM for 8 finalists. Giving Joy Micro grants available to women 18 and older.  – You can use the grant to start a new business or expand your existing business. You can also use the grant to start or expand a nonprofit, non-governmental organization (NGO), or charity, or propose a specific activity or project you would like to implement. Grant for $500. The current application period is June 1, 2023-September 30, 2023. 

Goldman Sachs Black Women Impact is a $10 million grant program with an open call application process for Black women-led charitable nonprofits. 50 organizations. Seven impact areas. One ambitious goal. Awards are up to $250,000. Multiple rounds.

Google Accelerator: Circular Economy – (North America and Asia-Pacific) is a 10-week virtual program for Seed to Series A technology startups and non-profit organizations based in North America and Asia-Pacific. It’s designed to bring the best of Google’s programs, products, people, network, and technology to the most innovative and impactful innovators working to realize a future without waste. Applications are closed but you can register your interest. 

The Hearst Foundations– The Hearst Foundations identify and fund outstanding nonprofits to ensure that people of all backgrounds in the United States have the opportunity to build healthy, productive, and inspiring lives. The grant amount is $200,000 and the application is on a rolling basis. 

The Lawerence Foundation-The mission of The Lawrence Foundation is to support organizations that are working to solve pressing environmental, human services and other issues. Grants are awarded twice a year. The grant application process is fairly simple and is initiated by submitting a grant application using the Common Grant Application Web site.

Microsoft TechSpack Community Engagement Fellowship Grant – Community organizations focused on creating inclusive economic opportunities will have the opportunity to apply to receive a mix of funding and contextual technical assistance through in-person and virtual support. Awarded organizations will select a member of their team to represent their organization as a TechSpark Fellow. Applicant must be US-based non-profit. Funding up to $50,000.
